Homemade Nutella

Ingredients

  • 70g unsalted hazelnuts
  • 85g dark chocolate (1x large bar – good quality), finely chopped
  • 180ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp honey

Method

  1. Preheat oven 180’C/Gas mark 4
  2. Line a baking tray with a sheet of baking paper and put the hazelnuts on top
  3. Roast the nuts in the oven (mmmm, savour the amazing smell) for 10-12 minutes
  4. Once they are cooked, leave to cool before blending
  5. Put the cooled hazelnuts in the food processor and blitz them for a good few minutes – until it eventually forms a liquid
  6. Keep blitzing until no lumps remain
  7. Now set the nut paste to oneside and prepare the chocolate
  8. Melt the chocolate in either a microwave or on the hob over some hot water
  9. While it’s melting, add the condensed milk and honey
  10. Once all the ingredients are combined, add the warm chocolate mixture to the food processor where the nut paste is and blitz for a couple of minutes
  11. Be careful not to over mix or it will start to solidify
  12. Serve!
